Note from Amy
My favorite part of my job is for sure the amazing customers I get to interact with each day! I know Little Scandinavia wouldn’t be here without you, and I’m so grateful for your support. I personally love learning about other places, cultures, and traditions and it is a joy to have the opportunity to share some of my own through the shop. I look forward to seeing you soon!

About Us
Culture and connection inspired Carl and Leona Anderson to open Little Scandinavia in 2006. Carl’s heritage is Swedish, and Leona’s gift was connection. They both enjoyed Scandinavian foods, traditions, and excellent craftsmanship.
They found the perfect store front in Elkhorn, Nebraska and remolded it themselves with help of friends and family. In October 2006 they opened their doors to the public and we continue to celebrate each year of being a Small Business in this special community each October.
In 2012 Carl and Leona led their first trip to Sweden, Denmark and Norway for customers who wanted to experience more of Scandinavia first hand.
The Anderson’s daughter Amy took over Little Scandinavia in 2019 after Leona passed away. She loves connecting with customers like her mom did and treasures the opportunity to work in a place that holds so many special memories of her mom Leona.
The shop continues to grow and expand over the years with new celebrations, classes, innovations, and product lines. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to keep up with the newest developments.
Our Shop Dogs
We love our pups! Since the shop opened, we’ve enjoyed bringing our dogs to work. Our current four-legged employees are Betsy and Gloria. They get excited when their work collars are put on knowing it is a “shop day” for them and they will get to see customers.
*NOTE: Please don’t bring your own dogs to our store, as the only dog Betsy loves is her sister Gloria. Also, if you are visiting and afraid of dogs, please call us before you come in and we will put them in the office to do a bit of “paperwork” for a while. Thank you!
